Christmas Time

Lots happened since I posted a blog last.
I'm still going smoke free and slowly getting used to it.  I'm in my second week.
Something I forgot to show you all in my apartment is my nice wooden Wishing Well.

I won that one years back in a silent auction.

Also, on December 4th we had our annual Samichlaus (St. Nicklaus) party at my apartment.
Mom and Dad where there, Ursi, Jeff, Katie and Maya came including the two German volunteers Marcel and Andy whom I got to know when I was over at the Mission once a week, and I also invited a good friend of mine who lives right across the hall from me (our Supperintendent) Bruce.  So we had lots of fun with mom cooking a soup and us eating away on peanuts, chocolates and Oranges, and drinking coffee, hot chocolate and Pepsi.  All too soon it was time to pack up and go though.  I wished we could have stayed around the table a bit longer.

Then on December 5th was Christkindle Market in Kitchener where I had to go and play with the Swiss Farmer Band and in the evening at my church (New Song Church and World Outreach), we had our Christmas Dinner.

On December 7th from Waterloo Regional Homes for Mental Health where I get my Social Workers from, we had our Christmas party, where we had fun too.  They played a game where they made snowmans out of toillette paper and had a competition by aplause, who made the best snow man.

We also at that Christmas Party had a full Christmas Turcky Dinner with everything included.  Turckey, Mash potato, gravey, and a number of other things, with dessert afterwards.

I don't mean to brag, but I even won the 50/50 draw they had.  I won $150.00, but only paid $6.00 for 9 tickets to be drawn. It was $1.00 for 1 tickets or $2.00 for 3 tickets I believe.

So all in all I had a busy time going from Chritmas party to Christmas party lately, and I'm not done yet.
On December 12th I have to play my Horn in another Christmas Concert with the Swiss Farmer Band,  And on December 18th is the Liebenzeller Chritmas.  Like I said going from party to party and by the 18th, Chritmas is not even here yet.

Struggles with Smoking

One thing with being single I find is that it's not all that easy because you can do whatever you want and if you choose so, there is no accountability.  This is the path I'm on, and I find there are too many dark corners in my life where I don't live life as I should.  One area is Smoking and spending too much money eating out and on smoking.

As of yesterday I have no more Ciggarretts and no more money till tomorrow to buy new ciggarretts.  So that left me yesterday evening and today without being able to smoke.  With as much as I smoke, it's tough,  but I'm thinking that I should try to not buy anymore ciggarretts even once I have money again.  I don't know if it is possible.  It's going to be hard for sure.  But smoking costs me $110.00 a month and that's just too expensive.

I'm just thinking if I could do without smoking how wonderful that would be.  So that's what I'm going to try.  If I succeed I don't know.  I want to give it my best but not promise something I can't end up keeping.

I think quiting cold turkey in my case is the only way to go.  Because either I smoke or I don't there is no in between.

My City, Kitchener

I thought I'll also show you some pictures of the city I live in.

First is my apartment from the outside:

This is the Downtown Bus Terminal I pass through daily or every other day:

Now the following suitecase you can't lift.  It's made out of cement.  It's Art.

The following is what I think the Bell tower in Victoria Park.  Whether there is actually a bell in it or not, I don't know.

The following are some other pictures from Victoria Park in Kitchener.

Hamilton & Visit at the Mission

On Tuesday I had my psychiatrist appointment in Hamilton.  So I got to ride the big Coach Canada bus ride by my work, right on to Hamilton.  I always enjoy going to Hamilton since I lived there for 2 1/2 years.  It brings back memories (the good ones).  I was able to tell the psychiatrist that everything has been going uphill since the last month and the medication stay the same.  I only go to Hamilton every 2 to 3 months.

Today (Wednesday) I went for my work day to the Liebenzel Misson Center to Jeff and Ursi's to work there most of the day.  Katie and Maya, but especially Katie had lots of fun climbing and standing on Uncle Mark and push him over while I was there.  I guess I'm the only Uncle in the area he gets to do that with and give Mom a break while she's at it!  I'm glad to see when I can be a long enough distraction for Ursi to get some computer work done.  I hope it helps.

I'll have to post some more pictures on the weekend, since with dial up it actually takes 10 minutes to upload one piture!  I'm willing to endure patiently though and do other things in the mean time.
